How to use Organize PDF

  1. 1Add the PDF

Select or drop a PDF. A thumbnail of every page appears.

  2. 2Rearrange pages

Drag thumbnails to reorder them, or use the ← and → buttons. Reverse order flips the whole document.

  3. 3Rotate or delete

Use ⟳ to rotate a page 90° clockwise, Rotate all ⟳ for every page, and 🗑 to delete a page. Reset undoes all changes.

  4. 4Save the PDF

Press Save PDF to download the reorganised document.

Fix page order, rotation and extra pages in one place

Scanned documents are rarely perfect: page 3 is upside down, the back of a form was scanned twice, the appendix ended up before the introduction. Organize PDF shows every page as a thumbnail so you can fix all of that by eye, then saves a clean new PDF. It is the visual counterpart to Split PDF, which works with page numbers.

How to organize a PDF

  1. Add the PDF. Thumbnails are drawn on your device with PDF.js; large documents take a moment.
  2. Move pages. Drag a thumbnail to a new position. On a phone or with a keyboard, the ← and → buttons move a page one place left or right.
  3. Rotate. ⟳ turns a page 90° clockwise; press it twice for 180°, three times for 90° anticlockwise. Rotate all ⟳ turns every page at once, which fixes a whole document scanned sideways.
  4. Delete. 🗑 removes a page – blank backs, duplicate scans, cover sheets.
  5. Reverse order flips the sequence, which is handy when a document-feeder scanned the stack back to front.
  6. Reset restores the original document if you want to start again.
  7. Save PDF downloads the result.

What happens to quality

Organising does not re-render anything. Pages are copied from the original file; rotation is written as the page’s rotation setting, which every PDF reader respects. Text stays selectable, links keep working and images keep their full resolution. The file size stays about the same, minus whatever pages you deleted.

Typical jobs

  • Double-sided scans: if your scanner produced all fronts then all backs, use the arrows to interleave them, or split and merge for long documents.
  • Upside-down pages: rotate 180° with two clicks.
  • Landscape tables in a portrait report: rotate those pages so they read correctly on screen.
  • Remove pages before sharing: delete internal notes, blank pages or a cover letter you do not want to send.
  • Put an appendix at the end: drag the pages into place.

Combining with other PDF tools

  • Need pages from several files? Merge PDF first, then organise here.
  • Want to extract a range of pages into a separate document? Use Split PDF.
  • Large scanned file? Run Compress PDF after organising.
  • Number the final document with Add Page Numbers.

Our guide How to merge and reorder PDF files shows a full workflow for job applications and paperwork bundles.

Thumbnails and large PDFs

Thumbnails are rendered at a small size to keep things fast, so a 100-page document is manageable on a laptop. On a phone, very long documents use more memory; if the page becomes slow, split the PDF into parts, organise each, then merge them again.

Rotation versus straightening

The ⟳ button rotates in 90° steps. It does not straighten a page that was scanned slightly crooked (a few degrees off). For that you need a scanner app with automatic deskew. If a photo of a document is crooked, you can rotate the image with Crop Image before converting it with JPG to PDF.

Password-protected files

Encrypted PDFs cannot be read until they are unlocked. Use Unlock PDF with the password first.

Privacy

Your PDF is opened and rewritten entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so it is safe for confidential paperwork.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reorder pages in a PDF?

Add the PDF, then drag the page thumbnails into the order you want, or use the left and right arrow buttons on each page. Press Save PDF.

How do I rotate one page in a PDF?

Click the ⟳ button under that page. Each click rotates it 90° clockwise. Rotate all ⟳ rotates every page.

Can I delete pages from a PDF?

Yes – click the 🗑 button on each page you want to remove, then save.

Does rotating reduce quality?

No. Rotation is stored as a page setting; the content is not re-rendered, so text and images are untouched.

I made a mistake. Can I undo?

Press Reset to return to the original page order and rotation before saving.

Can I reorganise pages from several PDFs at once?

Merge the PDFs first with Merge PDF, then open the merged file here to arrange all the pages together.
